🧀 Easy Cleanup
Pick the easiest thing you can manage and call it dinner.
Crackers + cheese + deli meat + fruit or veggies. Put it on a plate and call it dinner. Nobody needs a cooked meal every night.
Rotisserie chicken + a microwave side + whatever fruit or veggie is easiest. Dinner without actually making dinner.
Bake the frozen pizza. Add bagged salad, fruit or cut veggies if you have them. Good enough absolutely counts.
You’ve got 20 minutes. We can work with that.
Cooked chicken + shredded cheese + tortillas. Crisp them in a skillet and dinner is handled in about 15 minutes.
Microwave rice + cooked chicken + frozen broccoli + teriyaki sauce. Fast, filling and barely any cleanup.
Eggs + cheese + English muffins or bagels. Add sausage or bacon if you have it. Breakfast can absolutely be dinner.
You’ve got pasta. Dinner is already halfway handled.
Pasta + butter + parmesan + cooked chicken. Mild, fast and useful when everyone is being picky.
Pasta + marinara + mozzarella + pepperoni. All the pizza flavor without waiting on delivery.
You’ve got ground beef. Here are 3 easy ways to turn it into dinner.
Seasoned ground beef + shredded cheese on French bread. Bake until melty, slice it up and feed everybody.
Brown ground beef and stir it into boxed mac and cheese. Cheap, filling and something kids will actually recognize.
Sloppy joe meat over fries or tater tots with shredded cheese. Or throw it on buns if that is easier.
Dump it in, walk away, and let dinner handle itself.
Frozen meatballs + BBQ sauce in the slow cooker. Pile them onto buns and add cheese if you have it.
Chicken + cream of chicken soup + boxed stuffing. Dump it in, let it cook and dinner is basically handled.
Chicken + BBQ sauce + a spoonful of apple sauce. Shred it and serve on buns for an easy early-fall dinner.
When “I don’t like that” is already loading.
Put the dinner pieces on the table separately and let them build their own plate. Same dinner. Less arguing.
Tacos can be meat, cheese, tortilla and fruit sitting separately on the plate. It does not have to look pretty to count.
Serve one thing you already know they eat, like fruit, bread or yogurt. You are not making an entirely separate dinner.
